Career Minder is now available. We’re so excited for you to jump in and use it to advance your career goals. We set out to build a product that helps you keep track of your accomplishments and use them to build your earned confidence when opportunities for advancement or a new role present themselves. The struggle to know how to speak about your experience in job interviews, annual reviews, and other similar situations was where the idea for Career Minder was born. For some people, this is natural, for the rest of us a tool is necessary. Once you dive in, there are a few things we hope you’ll notice.

Dashboard

The Dashboard is your at-a-glance status board for your career. It’s divided into the Horizon and Path sections.

In the Horizon you can see how much experience you’ve recorded, how many Brag Sheets you’ve written, and the trend of how you’re feeling about career with the Sentimentometer. It’s important to be able to see how things are going at a high level to give you perspective in the inevitable struggles that will occur in every person’s career. You can also see the goals that you’ve set, so that you don’t lose track of what you’re aiming for.

In the Path you’ll find timelines of your jobs, education, and certifications. You can also record your current feelings about work to let the sentimentometer know how things are going. The jobs show all their associated experience and projects. Education is where you can put your degrees and what you studied. Certifications is a good place for licenses, technical certifications, and awards.

Experience

Experience is the engine of Career Minder. Here is where you record work experience and accomplishments and associate them with your jobs, projects, and goals. You are doing valuable things all the time as you work, but bringing them to mind weeks, months, or years down the road is tough. Career Minders is meant to act like a journal to help you keep your accomplishments accessible.

In order to help you record your experience regularly, Career Minder can send you email reminders on a schedule that works for you. This way, you’ll be able to look back and see a growing record of what you’ve done and apply it to what you want to do next.

Brag Sheets

Usually when an opportunity for a new job or advancement comes up, you need some sort of written document; a review, a resume, a cover letter, a business plan, etc. That’s where Brag Sheets come in. Brag Sheets are documents where you have all your experience at hand so that you can include the details from your background that are most applicable. You can also use a built-in template to generate a Resume with all of your work experience included automatically. Brag Sheets can be exported as Word docs, PDFs, or plain text.

Thank You

We really hope that you enjoy Career Minder. We’ve been working hard on it and have lots of plans for how it could grow and become more helpful to you over time. If you have any feedback or ideas that you’d like to see, don’t hesitate to reach out. Onward and upward!
